This was one of our largest moss installations at 6.4 metres wide and 5.4 metres tall. The client gave us a blank wall with full trust in our team, and we were able to design everything from the first sketch. It was the most amount of moss we have ever used in a project, all of which was imported from Holland and preserved in-house. The overall process was intense; we were not only creating the final product but also preparing for every step of the process before it gets put together, which is what we do for every installation, but that entire procedure was immensely amplified with a space of this size.
Working with such a large area, we had to use 16 individual panels that would only be attached on site. This meant for extremely extensive planning and an even clearer vision; there were numerous changes that had to be made and new ideas implemented as the process unravelled. We were able to create a moss installation that interacts with the environment, accentuating contouring and contrast with what would have been a flat surface. This project truly showcases how much we can do with manipulating depth with such a difficult medium like moss.
