The Philodendron melanochrysum, or yellow-leaved Philodendron, has striking foliage with yellow and dark green contrast. It thrives indoors, reaching up to 24 inches long. Provide support and a shaded, moist environment. Fun fact: Flowers are often removed for foliage growth.

Light: prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some direct morning sun, but prolonged exposure to intense sunlight may scorch the leaves.

Water: keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Reduce watering in the winter when growth slows.

Fertiliser: every 2-4 weeks during the growing season with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half strength. Reduce or stop fertilizing in the winter.
