Parry's Agave
Parry's Agave, or Agave parryi, is a blue-gray succulent that thrives outdoors, reaching up to 3 feet tall. It's low-maintenance, drought-tolerant, and blooms impressively with a 20-foot tall stalk appearing after 10-20 years.
Light: thrives in bright, direct sunlight. It requires at least 6 hours of direct sun per day, ideally in a south-facing or west-facing window.
Water: highly drought-tolerant. Allow the soil to completely dry out between waterings. Only water when the soil is bone-dry, which may be every 2-3 weeks. Be cautious not to overwater, as it can lead to root rot.
Fertiliser: every 2-3 months during the growing season (spring and summer). Use a fertilizer specifically formulated for succulents or cacti, following the package instructions for dosage. Avoid fertilizing during the winter months when the plant is in a dormant period.
Benefits: air-purifying properties, helping to improve indoor air quality.
